Financial Scholars Program

Most experts agree that financial pressures faced by young adults today are tougher than those faced by previous generations. The Financial Scholars Program (FSP) is a unique initiative that teaches, assesses and certifies Utah elementary, high school, and college students in financial literacy concepts they need to know using the latest new media tools including 3-D interactive gaming, Twitter-like messaging tools, animations, video, adaptive-pathing and other technologies (powered by EverFi).

Our goal is to equip a new generation of financial citizens for success by preparing them to take control of their financial future upon completion of their academic studies. By providing them with financial literacy education, we can improve their chances for success both professionally and personally.

The 10-module, 6-hour program is fully integrated into the school curriculum and covers over 600 topics including banking, credit scores, insurance, credit cards, student loans, mortgages, taxes, stocks, savings, consumer protection, retirement, 401k's and other critical concepts.The system tracks student progress and reports the unique score of each user. Upon completion of the course, students are provided with Certification in Financial Literacy. Certification can be a valuable mark of distinction on resumes and college applications. This has proven to create lasting effects as a community development tool by graduating entire classes of students who are financially capable and literate.
